I don't meet any of those criteria and still have a DPC average of 4.6 ...
Surely that would qualify for the obverse of number 1?
1. Your Photos Aren’t Cutting It if nobody is attacking your work. This will surprise you, but the first sign your photos aren’t cutting it is that nobody has ever told you that your work is horrible. If you stick with safe, plain vanilla photos, nobody will care. If nobody cares enough to complain, you probably aren’t taking enough risks. One thing I really like about trolls is that they can be the best confirmation that I am doing something right. If they are expressing their faux outrage, tell you that you’re doing it all wrong and that your work sucks – congratulations. You’re doing better than you think.
I ran across this quote today, and thought it was fitting.
"If everyone likes what you're doing, then you're doing something wrong."
I don't neccisarily agree with that, depends on what your aim is. If you are looking for mainstream success, trying to be a wedding/portrait photographer or stock photographer, I highly doubt you would be upset if everyone liked what you were doing. You would probably be doing well financially.
However if your goal is to be an artist, shoot what moves you, be avant garde and all that good, pretentious stuff then that quote probably holds true.
