I haven't participate in one before, even though I never miss a free study. Can someone explain what the FSM is about?
In the OP, if you follow the link it will take you to the FSM site. In the left column you will see both "FSM Rules" and "FSM Point System". The to pages should explain everything to anyone that would like to know how the FSM works.
A simple explanation is:
1. Enter as many Monthly Free Studies as you can.
2. You are awarded FSM points based on your ranking among other FSM participants each month.
3. The FSM gathers your DPChallenge average score on the first day of the year. You are awarded Improvement points called I-points based on how well you score each month compared to your DPC average score.
4. These points are totaled and the user with the highest point total wins at the end of the year.

I've been in this now for the last four years, and though it frustrates me, I have to thank you for making me push myself out of my comfort zone every single month for the last four years.
It's terrific that you spend the time and effort for the DPC community.
