It's pretty obvious from some of these that the driver was extremely distracted by something. A reminder of why you shouldn't text or talk on the cell phone while driving.
A bigger reminder to new drivers of why you don't just go if the light is green, but wait to see that the other cars are stopping.
WARNING: some of the videos are rather graphic because of pedestrians or motorcycles being involved.
Holy Crap! I thought I'd seen some idiots, but some of those are just beyond belief. What really amazed me were some of the vehicles that got hit... they showed no signs that their drivers were reacting prior to getting hit, when the oncoming vehicle should have been in their line of sight. Perhaps I'm more acutely aware, being a motorcyclist, but these days you have to have a good defense!
I witnessed an accident last summer where a car went through a red light and got t-boned by a motorcycle going through the green. It was much like the last accident on the compilation, only there were two people on this motorcycle, and it was the passenger that went flying through the air, cartwheeling. When you see it happen right in front of you, it's a whole other ball-game.
I saw one just like the first pedestrian one, only it was a kid. We were stopped in the middle lane at the light of a 6 lane highway. It was the most horrific sound I've ever heard, metal hitting flesh.
I've been pretty terrified of driving for a while too...
Good news though, I've found a solution that works really well for me:
Now when I have to drive, I just go really fast (so it's over with quicker, less exposure=less risk), and close my eyes really tight so I can't see all the scary stuff that happens all around me every time I go for a drive...
You should try it too, actually, I think there's a video somewhere in here demonstrating proper technique... :)
The last one with the motorcycle disturbed me the most. That and the pedestrian.
The other thing that was just as disturbing, were the number of cars that actually drove off after the accident instead of staying around. Including the witnesses in the other cars.

and none of it was as hard to watch as the video that Juliet posted. That was sobering.
