A strong second place in the prologue to start the Tour this year - shaping up to be a real interesting race. And a great(!) start for Cancellara in his first ever Tour - winning the first stage!
I am an avid cyclist but don't follow the racing world too much. However, I am familiar with the health challenges that both Armstrong and Greg LeMond had to overcome to get to be the champions they have become...pretty amazing stories for both cyclists, and both are modern day heros.
Might like some of these then. Had an overly cycling focused day today - long ride this morning, watching the prologue over lunch then shooting at a Criterium downtown this afternoon.

Thank you - It was a lot of fun, though occasionally hairy - once or twice I thought I was going to get ridden in to - those guys were topping out at 30mph or so and I was quite close!
It makes you understand better why Graham Watson uses a motorbike when he's shooting the Tour. :)

In some ways I quite fancy shooting from the back of a motorbike, but it looks a bit risky too - hanging off the back of a bike, facing the wrong way...
Good job with a difficult situation. Especially exposure as it seems many of the shots had both bright sun and shadow. These can certainly be color events with their jerseys and helmuts.

I shot a collegiate road race that way. It was a lot of fun, though thinking back, I may not have been wise enough to be scared. A bit challenging to load film on a mountainous curvy road.

It was a good start for sure, especially seeing Cancellara had been telling reporters for weeks beforehand that he would win the Prologue, and he goes out and does it just like that in his first Tour start ever. Respect! Lance also showed out well, very impressive indeed. Although, I have a feeling he will find this Tour the most difficult since his last 5 wins, Jan Ullrich is in the best form he has been in since he won in 1997. 3 weeks is a very long time!
