Yes, I forked over actual hard cash to go see the movie. I liked it. I did think it a tad on the slowish side. I do like how the characters have grown up while we've watched. I don't like the whole "hand held jiggly" style of shooting - it bothers me. On a couple of occasions - "oooh! Nice bokeh"; on another occasion "level the darn horizon, would ya?" (There was no real reason not to have it level that I could see.)

But overall, I did like it.
It's supposed to increase tension and increase realism... Doesn't seem like you thought it helped with the realism, but it seems to have worked fine on increasing tension for you... :)
Ah, I knew there was a reason for it, but did it bother you, too? To me it's like HDR is to some people when it is overdone - they notice only the processing and not the photo. At the points in the movie where it goes into fancy-camera-movement overload, I fail to notice what is happening in the movie and only notice the method they're using to film it. Gotta figure that's not what was intended, but then I may not be in the core demographic, either.

my daughter saw it twice, including the midnight premiere, and thought it was incredibly realistic. i asked her after the second viewing if she saw things she missed the first time and she said "just one." i guess it really had her attention.
