I think you should write back and say that you are, indeed, DEAD, but that you didn't die in a CAR wreck. Instead, MR GERSHON SHAPIRO shot you dead in hopes of getting your estate.

I was going to say, reply and confirm you are dead and instruct them to send him the money....
But Deb and Ken are much more clever than I. Go with their suggestions. In fact you could combine them. You were shot by Mr. Shapiro, but were only fatally wounded.
Thank you so much for your recent letter. I am writing to confirm at the time of reciept of your letter I was indeed dead, however I am making a full recovery and getting better everyday. My recent demise came as a great shock when I woke dead after being in the car accident, I almost had a heart attack. At the time of writing to you I am only half dead, so Mr Shapiro can only claim half my estate, if that half gets better, but the other half dies, he will have to return the first half and I will send the second half by return post.
