Don't see how you could set custom white balance with film, except to use a different film, or compensate for it in the darkroom. So, I would think it would not be of any help with a film cam.
Yep, more limited usefulness with film, but... you could shoot a "reference frame" with the ExpoDisc and later use it to correct scans of the film automatically.
