This is exactly what I predicted for this shot: 5.3. Why do we enter shots just to enter? I don't particularly like it, I knew it wouldn't do well, and yet I submitted anyway.
I have yet to dish out my votes, although I have looked at all the submissions already and I will look at them several more times before voting. It seems like there are several that stretch the challenge subject matter to fall within the set boundaries . . . probably looking for more of an artistic or esoteric response and that's where I fail. I am still very junior there - as a voter, I tend to be more literal in rules or boundaries interpretation, meaning that I have thrown some low scores to some very nice images based on the shooter's image versus my interpretation of the stated challenge. And I am still lacking personal confidence with my own abilities, both technically and artistically, so I end up feeling bad for probably not "getting it" when I vote low . . . I guess only time will cure that.
With all that said, this challenge is loaded with some excellent images!

Started out really good, dropped REALLY fast, now down below my average and still falling. But hey, I entered. There's that!
Some very good shots, some not very good shots in this one. I suspect a lot of first entries, which is good. We need some new blood. You're obviously tired of my very old blood - heh! Score's off now. Have a good challenge, all!
Well, dropped quite a bit overnight, but still a great score. Especially since there was an aspect of my picture that I wasn't quite right, nothing I could do to fix it in basic editing. I wasn't sure how much people would dock me for it. For the moment it seems people don't mind it, or they are willing to overlook it.
I do honestly believe that, even though my entry is far from ribbon material, i did a good job this time. Some 7s, 8s, and 9s seem to confirm that. I wonder how it would be doing right now without the couple of 2's that i received earlier without any sort of explanation.
I really didn't expect to be doing so well in this one. I really loved my photo but you just never know how it will be recieved by others. Happy to see other people like it too. I am having a good week this week! Good thing, because last week was pretty bad, with two images scoring right at 5.0.
