Canon EF 70-200mm f/4.0 L USM

This Sunday through Wednesday I will be at Gatlinburg Tn ,enjoying the beauty of the mountains.Wednesday and Thursday will try to see Blue Ridge Parkway and Western N Carolina.
Anyone coming to this area ?

I was in Townsend TN 2 days last week. I visited Pigeon Forge, but liked the quiet and low key atmosphere of Townsend. It's a beautiful part of the country, make sure you have plenty of CF cards!

I'm back ! :-(
Too bad couldn't stay longer.I enjoyed every minute there,experience and beautiful scenes from Tennessee and N carolina are priceless.

Didn't know Karmat lives there,we could have a GTG there :-)

I am missing Smoky mountains & Blue Ridge Parkway a lot now after reading your posts. Wish I could visit those pretty areas once again.

Every time I go the the smokies...I have to go to Cades Cove...Always something good to photograph there

this is so weird! We got a leaflet in the mail about Dollywood and Piegon Forge/Gatlinburg yesterday. I was telling my friend how much I wanted to go and take some photos up there.. I can't go soon, but we are planning to take off and go around the 4th weekend in September :) I always stay at the Toni Inn Best Western, its beautiful, hot tubs, indoor/outdoor pools, etc. I also love the cades cove loop, I've seen bear and deer there! :) Enjoy your trip!

The Smokies are wonderful place, but the commercialism of Pigeon Forge with all the mini-golf, shops etc. in such a beautiful place personally is bothersome. Don't get me wrong I work for the same company (here in Memphis) that owns the Park Vista Hotel (the big round hotel in Gatlinburg) so that is where I stay, but besides the National Park I like to go to the Cherokee National Forest. It hasn't been nearly as developed as the areas surrounding the NP, and is just as beautiful. If you are more into quiet streams than muscle cars its just wonderful.

Sorry i can't seem to make the Tumb nails work. Any suggestions?

Point well taken. But even amongst the crass commericalism, there are some shots to be found, if you want. For example...

If a bunch of folks ever want to have a GTG in the Western Carolina area, my best friend is the manager of a Comfort Suites in Cherokee and will give us good rates...something to keep in mind for the future maybe.

You are a member but don't have any portfolio images?

You upload the photo into your profile, hover over the image in your profile with the mouse.

Make a note of the image number which appears in the bottom left of your screen.

Then when you post into a thread, type that into the box that pops up when you click on the "Insert Thumbnail Link to Site Image" button.

Oh your quite right. My meaning was that if you are going to Pigeon Forge looking for "Natural Beauty" it is not to be found there except on the hoizon. But who doesn't love GM F bodies. Your photo is making me miss my 72' Olds 442 vert;-).
