My Extraordinary submission just got my first DQ request. I'm taking it that my picture is soooo extraordinary to the voters that someone has assumed it cant be real.....which it is.
It can often take 1-5 days once we receive the validation file. SC members have to vote on all the DQ requests, not only from the three current challenges, but from the previous two as well, for which we now have to validate the top five. We're in all kinds of time zones, with varying schedules and commitments.
Be patient -- if your photo is legal then it will just remain in the challenge ... I don't think anyone emails the photographer if the photo's validated, but only if it's DQ'd.

have you triple quadruple checked the date in the camera? Many 'legal' pics get tripped up on this detail.
