I am almost certain that we had a "snapshot" contest sometime in the recent history, I tried to look for it last night for an important audience but I couldn't find it even when I went back twice over the challenges' list for the last 5 years; being so frustrated and tiered I was wondering as to why we do not have a search command for the challenges! or do we already have one?
And can some one, please, help me find the challenge.

I just go to the challenge history page, then check the "Show all" box, and press ctrl-f to bring up my in-browser search feature, and search for the terms I desire.
Another good technique is to use the site search feature in Google, simple type "site:dpchallenge.com [searchterms]" or "site:dpchallenge.com/forum [searchterms]"

It represents something that each of us has seen -- more as human beings than photographers -- and wants to keep as a memento, a special thing encountered. The little icons that return from the photo-finisher provide recollections of events, people, and places; they stir memories and create fantasies. A snapshot would be an image done without artifice. By definition, little or no thought went into the creation of the snapshot. It's purely emotion-driven, rather than, process-driven. It represents a completely different mental state, on the part of the photographer, than does the creation of so-called "art". That's not to say snapshots can't *be* art, but they come from a more unconscious place in the psyche than does the conscious creation of art. The Ansel Adams statement, hosted by Germaine and quoted by Melethia, is a wonderful piece of awareness.
