A bit late to respond, but I think I know what you are talking about. Basically, in areas where there are pixels that are a blend of background and subject, that leaves a green "halo". This probably happens, as you have stated I believe, in areas like the hair..maybe on edges of the skin.
You need to select all the green, then feather the selection by whatever pixels you think will work based on your images resolution. When you feather the selection, the pixels on the edge of the selection are not 100% removed when you hit delete.
If you want to post an image showing the issue I can be of further help. This is a VERY common thing that everyone on Earth who shoots anything on a "green screen" deals with. We just gotta figure out which method to use for your situation.
