I use travelers insurance for business. I have a little over 15k worth of equipment insured, which includes personal and property liability as well as rental coverage. I pay around $550 a year.
I have a "personal articles" policy with State Farm Insurance which covers lost, stolen or broken camera equipment. They charged about $10 per $600 value I think, with no deductible. I had to provide my sales receipt to verify the cost of the equipment. It is not tied into our Home Owners policy and I don't know if you have to have other insurance with them to get the Personal Articles Policy, but we do have all our policies with them.
