also, as a side comment, it might have been good if people read the guidelines that stock photo sites have for what is and is not acceptable. i know they will not take anything with a recognizable product or brand in the photo, as that raises all sorts of copyright and trademark problems (unless, of course, you are shooting ad/PR material for the company that makes the product).
some of the shots are nice except for that complicating factor that it would probably not be accepted as stock

Guess what...we're NOT really submitting these photos to stock agencies. We are having fun in a friendly competition. Loosen your collar and relax a little. If people where intending these shots to be submitted I'm sure they would look into the details as you have described, but it's not a factor in this challenge and you shouldn't vote as if it is.
