I just had what I think would be a good idea for DPC. When you upload a pic onto DPC there is a line for location. With the popularity of GPS, and I am sure there are quite alot of people on this site that use GPS, under the location textbox there could be a textbox for GPS coordinates. This way if you see a picture of a location and would maybee like to check it out for yourself, you could plug it in to the gps and go. There have been alot of locations that I have seen on here that really look awesome and worthwhile to visit. Anyway what are your thoughts.
I'm not sure we want to start cluttering up the layout with a lot of fill-in boxes* which will probably be used by a minority of submitters -- I know I couldn't (conveniently) enter any coordinates for my pictures.
You can always start entering your own location information in your notes -- maybe others will see it and it will catch on. Actually, there's no reason you can't enter GPS coordinates into the existing "Location" text box ... :-)
*Other suggestions have included boxes for focal length, enditng software, etc.

A good idea in a lonnnnng list of good ideas.
The advantage to having unique fields for coordinates is that it could also provide the ability to plot a map using available tools like google maps.

I think the fact that now -- a mere fifty-odd years since the first man-made object was put into orbit -- you have a telephone in your pocket with more computational power than what got men to the Moon is largely due to "rocket science" and the supporting research it required.
I'm not sure if a "show/hide" option could be applied to the submission page, but that's a good idea if it's easy to code.
