I was asked to display some work in an art show the other day. (My first! Just a little local deal but still exciting for me.) A woman who owns a local shop asked me to put some pieces in there on commission; which of course I agreed to. I delivered those pieces today and she is asking for some more work - specifically of bikes (Harleys).
I have several pieces that I think would be excellent for what she is asking but my concern is, do I need a property release to be able to sell said pieces. They were taken at a well advertised and annual public event.
So, do I????????
First of all, huge congrats on your show! And second...uhhmm....I dunno honestly. You said it was a well-advertised and public event, not like you crashed a Hells Angels kegger (I hope). So my guess is you should be ok, unless someone gets p.o.'d that you're making $$ from a shot of their ride...I suggest pm'ing people like Bear_Music on this.

ETA Just re-read your post and it's the store/shopfront owner asking you to supply Harley shots. Hmm! Maybe politely ask her why and voice your concerns to her. Then go from there.
She wants Harley shots cause there is supposed to be a bike ralley of some sort uptown. She saw a couple of my bike shots at the art show. Those bike shots I do have property and model releases on.

Congrats on the show! My understanding is you can sell your work of anything without a release providing it's not to be used commercially, as in an advertisement.
