I would like to start this off by retracting all of the nice things I've ever said to and/or about vawendy, now that she has pointed out to me that I have finished 2nd by a whopping 0.0055 points.
I'm thrilled with my score, and am honored to have placed so well with all the exceptional images, and I know the winner has put forth a superior piece of work (even though it's a padlock ; ). But this is the kind of news that will crush a man. Burden him to his grave. I was blissfully unaware of this until a few moments ago. But now I know. Thanks a lot, vawendy.
So I am looking for someone with whom I can share this misery (everything's relative).
What has been the closest finish ever? Have you ever been nipped at the gate?
Edit: The comments about vawendy are obviously in fun, in case anyone takes that the wrong way.
I remember having a tie where my image got a ribbon …
and this one didn't.
If I remember correctly, I was the first one to notice and I contacted the proper authorities ;)
Now that I think about it someone actually argued against me and said it was impossible … but I begged and pleaded for justice =D

This finished 4th with the EXACT. . . I mean EXACT same score as the 3rd place ribbon winner in one of the last bokeh challenges. I guess way down the line there was a difference, buttttttt. . .ouch
We've had several challenges with duplicate ribbons due to identical scores. My closest finish was in Feet, where I missed the blue by .002 points. At the time, we listed avg. votes given by users without cameras, and there was a single camera-less participant who voted on EddyG's entry, but skipped mine. That one voter turned out to be the difference!
I missed the top ten once by a whopping 00.0001

I think that so far, you get the Ribbon/Metal for "Just Missed"...really 00.0001 but still 4th is 4th and it ain't no small feat...got no idea how I got there....
