Too cute. I started my daughter young as well. She is now 13 and quite good at photography. Most competitions she enters she comes away with first or second place. May yours do as well as mine with the photography. LOL
How many children registered already? Are there enough for a "children only" challenge? Could be a fun thing to vote on one where photographers MUST be under 18.

My niece is really in to photography, and I'd love to give her a digital camera for christmas.. (no funds this year).. but she doesn't even have a family computer yet...
So perhaps next year.
I'm contemplating giving her my Pentax 35mm SLR to use... She's 8. I wonder if that would be too much camera for her. heh.
I just went through her CF card, and I can tell I'm in trouble already. She took all of these shots except the first one (obviously). I cropped three of them and edited one- otherwise they're straight out of the camera.
I'll tell ya what...your daughter sure has a great natural eye! I teach a workshop for kids thats called "through my eyes" and it NEVER gets old. Children just have a unstructured view of how things look, and it really comes through in their pictures. I have tried a few with Gracie, but at 2 she's more interested in the camera itself. Maybe next year?
She realy has a photographer eye.

I gave my old Canon a 40 to my son (10 at the time) to take some photos while on holiday.
When we got back home I was just amazed by the way he captured some scenes.
It was not all good, but some of the photos he took were realy much better then mine :(

I think it's also the fact that when we are kids we are interested in mostly anything that surrouds us, the world is so interesting then, everything worth atleast a look, as we get older most of us start to overlook things many times it strikes us in the face and we don't see it.

I bought her a refurbished Canon PowerShot A60 for $99 (since sold out). It's only 2 megapixels, but has 3x zoom and all sorts of manual controls, so it's a good beginner camera. She already knows how to set the macro mode and adjust the zoom.
No worries, though, she won't be winning many competitions taking photos with her mouth ;-) than again, it may be just that sort of youthful creativity that could revolutionize DPC!
