i agree with you... and i like mine and it fits the challenge... but it's still not doing very well (although better than any of my other ones). i just don't know how to please you people! ;)
welp, i must have jinxed myself... i'm doing poorer now than past challenges.
Yeah, how should we vote on these? I just flipped through, a bunch of mediocre grabbing at straws for a subject... granted, mine was too... but, how should we vote???
at least they dislike it so much that it makes them comment... another challenge for me with 8 votes, 5.00 score and no comments as of yet. and i know people say "people comment later" but for everyday objects, i had 256 votes with 7 comments. and my macro and blue shots aren't getting commented on either. i'm just mediocre-- i must cause no reaction in anyone... kind of makes me WANT to take an AWFUL picture since my good ones aren't good enough. at least my photo would be noticed and possible recognized!!
After competing in 38 consecutive challenges, I chose not to submit a crappy photo for the miniature challenge. Or maybe I have an subliminal aversion to the number 39. Who knows? LOL ;o)
At 2 votes, I have a 4.5. I predict I'll get a higher score in the end though. On a side note, I actually am disappointed in many of the pictures in this challenge. It likely is just me, but it seems like many of the pictures either don't fit the challenge or are of poor image quality. I don't usually take such a pessimistic look, though... anyone agree or disagree with me on this challenge?
So far, I am disappointed also; BUT, mine wasn't all that great either.
I shot mine with only 25 minutes left. I can't even beleive I entered it. After looking through the thumbnails, I don't think mine is so bad anymore :)
OK, I am really shocked this time. This image is better than any of my other images, even my ad, which I really liked. Everyone I showed the miniature entry to loved it, and it's scoring lower than my Blue entry, which is not as good. WHY??
It's in focus, DOF is spot on, lighting is correct, subject is interesting to the eye, meets the challenge, looks very "wow", voters must be on a different wavelength.
Yea, doing great, fine, outstanding, having a ball;-)

Depressed, thinking of taking up drinking big time.
Looks like little big things have bombed as well.
Always next time lol.
So on my first run-through on the photos for this challenge, I've come to the following conclusions. It seems to me that many people pushed too hard with photos to try to meet the challenge, by simply putting large objects with small objects. That's fine if the photo is visually stimulating or shows thoughtful creativity. But honestly, I feel like AT LEAST half of these photos were done at the last minute with little thought at all... I don't think I've ever noticed this much carelessness in any previous challenges. I know I probably shouldn't talk too much since my first challenge entries have been poor, but wow... I know most of us can do better on this particular challenge.
I'm sure the average score for this challenge will be close to an all-time low on the site... but on the plus side, I did find 2 or 3 stand-out amazing photos! ;)
I'm disapointed in my score so far. I thought I had one that fit the challenge, was technically well done and would fit the tastes of dpc voters. But I'm about a full point lower than I expected.
I sat this one out. Half an hour before it closed I was in a meeting and had a great idea. I was willing the meeting to be over so I could rush out and try it, but no luck :( I think it's better for my health to sit them out sometimes...
Worse than usual, worse than expected, and still sinking fast from all appearances ... at this rate I might have to miss the San Francisco Bay Area adventure, but at least I'll be able to join the Fraser Coast Excursion as I exit the Antipodes ...
Mine is doing err OK I guess 5.6, but I just voted & ummm. Cmon guys you can do better than that!! Very few images where I thought Wow or Cool or Well shot. Loads of mediocre shots of trash & trinkets or used model cars. A couple of well executed ones, but not much that I would hang on my wall.
Well I love my picture but it didn't come out very good. I know the lighting is harsh and that's the subject of the comments I'm getting. I totally agree but I couldn't help but submit this. It's very hard taking photos of animals and getting them to stand still so I feel lucky I got the shot at all. This is only my second challenge so I'm looking forward to learning and getting better.
