Good luck, people. I didn't enter this one (no creative juices here), but I think it will be a hard one for people to decide on their submissions and to vote on. Should be interesting at the very least!!
Just try to think about how you'd vote. If, during the voting, you came across two pictures that were technically and compositionally similar, but one was photoshopped to look like the front page of a newspaper, which would you vote higher? I would tend to think the unaltered shot will do better.
I took mine as one that I would think would be good for a FRONT page in COLOR. I cropped it to be as it would in the paper. But I also made sure the photo told it's own story so that it could hold itself on it's own without a caption (which are a crucial part of any newpaper-published photo, title of the article or not).

I'm just vexed at the timing. Had this come out 1 week earlier I would have had image bonanza. :)

Hey blemt, why not just try to duplicate the front page of today's copy of your local newspaper? At least it will give you a place to start. Though, it might be too late. :S
I lucked out getting a picture for this contest. I was at a stop light and just happend to have my camera on the passenger seat. I ripped it out of the bag and managed to get about 7 shots off before the light changed green and I had to go. After uploading them to my computer I discovered that I had a really good shot but I had to crop the crap out of it, so the pic isn't as sharp as what it could have been had I a zoom lens on at the time. This is only my 3rd entry to a contest and I am finding it so hard not to keep hitting update on the vote results! lol

My entry is an attempt at humerous human interest. Wanted to snap something like a huge wreck or somebody getting busted but alas, NOTHING happens where I live. Gee, guess I have to be thankful for that, huh? :-)

Well, not completely tell it's own story, but it connects with the title through it's contents.
This is my first submission to a challenge. I am hoping it will meet to my expectations but after reading some posts on the forums I think I will be thrown under the bus, so to speak. Oh yes please leave comments, good or bad.
