Despite my attempts to get people to expand the boundaries of their imaginations, I 100% agree with EddyG's analysis of the correct approach to take if your desire is to get a good score and a few nice compliments!
I, personally, appreciate the subtle, clever, and offbeat as well as straightforwardly excellent photos ... even if I give a photo a "bonus point" for originality (unlike the penalty most voters seem to apply) it will still usually score below the best-done, straightforward executions. |
