Wejna is my screen name for almost everything, and has been since school. I have four brothers and they were all nicknamed Weine (from our last name, Weinehall). I wanted a female-ish version of it, so Wejna it was. It possibly makes slightly more sense with Swedish grammar. :)
"Pangur Bán" is an Old Irish poem, written about the 9th century at, or near, Reichenau Abbey. It was written by an Irish monk, who 'doodled' about his cat called Pangur Bán, in the margins of the manuscript he was working on. The whole story appealed to me, from my Gaelic(Irish) roots, through the poem itself, to the fact that monk got distracted and started scribbling on his work!
The poem compares the work of the cat (hunting and catching mice) to the work of the monk. I think the last verse is probably most suited to DPC:
"Practice every day has made
Pangur perfect in his trade;
I get wisdom day and night
Turning darkness into light."
I've used the name for many years on the internet, althoughs sometimes shortened to Peeby (PB)
My names Anita.........so yeah not difficult to work out......plus it's an endearing title 'neat' bc it was my husband who first started calling me that when we were dating.
Mark was already taken so I thought about MarkA but I didn't want people to think I was Canadian so I went with MarkB. Or perhaps B is my last initial.
They would have only made that mistake if it was MarkEh.
Well, my mother's maiden name starts with an S, and if I had been born a boy, my first name would start with a K. I have a very sensitive nose so a lot of smells bother me and I'm always saying, "Ew!". Sm stands for my shirt size, when I was 8 years old. And finally, several of my favorite words, like emetic, egregious, eructate, erstwhile, enteric, empurpled, eschew and eusporangiate start with the letter E. Quite simple really.
I live in the very small community of Graham and I am an avid UF Gator fan, so there you have it. Ihave used this name for a long ime. It started out as "Grahamcracker" and evolved to "grahamgator". On some other sites people think I am a male.
My user ID could stand for many things. Almost Mediocre Baker comes to mind. Or because I am baker.
Sadly, it is simply my first two initials. That's all the imagination I have. In the good old days of BBSes, I used ShadowWalker, but that I got from someone else. Did not seem appropriate now that I am all growled up.
Some very close friends have called me Ann. But that is a whole other story.

Cuttooth is a song title from a radiohead b-side. Back in the 90s when I played an online RPG (utopia) I went by the nickname Felini, which was my cat's name. I decided I wanted a more "butch" sounding name so changed to Cuttooth since I was a rabid radiohead fan, been using it on various online sites since.
The Royal Artillery have Ubique as their motto, as do the Royal Engineers. The Engineers claim that their translation is 'everywhere' but say that when it comes to the RA it is better translated as 'all over the place'. :-)
My wife and I lived a few states away from my son and daughter in law when they had their first son, I had only seen my grandson a couple of times but when he was about 1 he saw a picture of Me and pointed and said Papa Bob, then he saw my wife and said Gramma Bob? Ever since Iwe have been Papa Bob and Gramma Bob.

Back in the 90s I played a lot of Warcraft 2 and needed a nickname and I had Jordax at the time (misheard quote from a troll axethrower "D'you want axe?"). Playing other games (especially at LANs), I needed a new nickname, and a word popped into my head - Nicht. Wasn't sure why. Anyhow, when I registered here that was what I had and it was unique enough to use wherever I went. And it's short. Maybe I should have stuck to Jordax - I think I like that more, looking back. :D

the way I came up with that.....My nickname was cowboy when I was stationed at ft Hood texas because I wore a cowboy hat, wore the boots, and rode in the rodeo. It was a wild time. The 22 was how old I was when I got the address. Some people think that 1977 was chosen because of my birth year. Even though I was born in 1977 I chose it because I had a 1977 Jeep cj-5. I miss that jeep..
