I just want to know how cold it gets . . . . my husband won't move anywhere with really cold temps. If it "passes", I'm there!!!! Actually, I had noticed the same quality of work coming from that one area, too. Maybe in my next life . . . .
The winters go down to -6 c and not really much colder than that and the summer goes up to 25c and it´s getting even hotter every year. In the summer it´s bright 24 hours a day. Some people mistake Iceland for the north pole, but the weather is just refreshing.
Got me self 717-sony 2 weeks ago..
Huge step from what i had..
Don't forget the dark winters in Iceland.. And even if it's -6 degrees the wind there can make it feel like -30
Big trees couldn't survive a normal storm there :) When it's a storm here in Berlin, massive trees are falling down, killing some people.. but still it's just funny because it's like a normal windy day in Iceland...
But still it's not bad... The Sommer is not as bad as many people think..
Was suppose to be Greenland and Greenland was suppose to be Iceland...
Just a rumor, but makes sense ;)

Are you from Vestmannaeyjar? I don't remember all this storm you are talking about!
I live in Isafjordur (Ice-fjordur) and last winter there were almost no snow. I know that when it is a storm then -6 degrees feel like -30 but that does not happen often here where I live.

We had almost -20 c this winter and the colder we had here whas close to -40 c. At -6 c water is barely frozen a bit. Why do they call it Iceland ? :))
edit ... and not Siberia who has temperatures up to -70...
Originally the land was named Iceland by the Vikings that came here because they thought the land was such a paradise that they didn't want more people to come here. They found out that if it had this cold name they could have the land for them selves.

Just until maby 6 years ago snowflodds were regulary around Isafjord and alot of people are going away from this area because of the wether, (I´ve heard) You could get stuck there for days over the winter because the roads are full of snow and it´s to bad wether for the planes.. ??

Seems like the greenhouse-effect is realy kicking in here. Over average temperature for the last 25 month. Was up in the montains few weeks ago, almost no snow where usually there is a lot of snow till june.
I´m into GTG. Just name the time and place and I´ll be there (if I possible can).
The weather here is almost comically unpredictable – I once went for a short-ish bike ride that started out dry, overcast and windy, then cycling through warm and sunny, raining and still, windy with sleet, a short hailstorm, and then finally settling in almost white-christmas like snow, piling down and covering the ground in minutes.
I think our weather administrator might be drinking on the job

Are you sure you don't live around San Francisco? Each city you drive past seems to have a different type of weather. The term "Microclimates" seems to be the weatherpeoples favorite phrase.
Mig minnir að ég hafi lesið um hana á hugi.is/ljosmyndun. Jón R. var ábyggilega að tala um hana. Ekki samt 100% viss. Hvað með ykkur?
