... I'm sure I deserve my final score, whatever it may be. My entry is not THE best, but it is MY best, so I'm still excited. I'm not even close to being in the same league as most of you guys, but I still enjoy competing alongside you and sometimes get your feedback. Who knows, maybe one day... :)
THIS is exactly what I love about DPC. It's how I introduce people to the site.
It's like the game of golf.
You have your score/average... and if, in this "round" you beat your score/average, you win! Even if you're dead last on the course.
If not... you try again.
No one wins all of the time.
I love competing against myself/myaverage.
It's the perfect situation, no matter whether we're "golf pros" or... a "beginning golfer".

So true im always trying too better my average even if Im not as competitive as I should
I had a string of 22 straight beating my own average earlier this year. Some of them were real squeakers that came down to the last day, but that was part of the fun.
Hmm. Counting three in voting now, I have lost to myself 75% of the time in the past 20 challenges/7 months. Probably not very good. Were this golf, I'd be forced to sell the clubs!

Yeah... you're probably right. This site sucks. I'm in the same boat. *sigh*
Hmm. In your last ten showing, you've beat your own average half the time. That's.... average! At least average for LydiaGolf. (And there are two shiny ribbons in there, too.) I think you're doing just fine!!
Meanwhile, my 2K score, since this is a scores thread and all:
I haven't had a horse in this race for about 2 years. Now I have 1 in 2 challenges (Lured back by the 2K). I have one above my average and one below. Guess that's how I got my average.

Welcome back Cristy. If you indeed have a *horse* in the 'race' you'll probably score pretty high. :)

Seems that's where it'll stay.
I fully intend to vote & comment on 100%, good timing to have a long weekend.
disappointed with the score on this one, it dropped down to a 5.08 at one point that i noticed, it's back up slightly, but i truly thought this would score higher.
I feel like that's how this one's been from the start. The score has remained in a narrow range, but keeps getting knocked down to the bottom end. Hopefully, rollover will come during a peak.
Look. Look at it another way. If you're creeping up down up on your average score by mean little increments, where are you headed with your photography? Better to go down in flames nine times out of ten, if the tenth is an unexpected triumph: a new way for you. That's what progress is really about, isn't it? Crashing and burning, and then soaring? One soar is worth a score of pyres. If you're worried about protecting your average score, your wish is very likely to be granted ... and you'll be reliably average. A dismal fate. Buy some golf clubs instead. At least you'll reliably win a frozen chicken every Saturday.
ETA: on the other hand, my own 2K score is mid-5s which is ... my average. Fore!
