It's easy to see why this trip was so transformational for you. Alaska had the same effect on me, when I visited it many years ago. Something about physically imposing grandeur putting things into perspective...
Alaska is on my list - as is Greenland, Finland and Siberia - I am totally smitten with uber-cold places.

When I visited Iceland in 1986 a side trip to Greenland was offered by Icelandic Air.
We landed at Kulusuk Airport - a runway carved out of the side of a mountain. (We landed going up)
Then transferred by either boat (me) or by helicopter (my traveling buddy) to
a town that may have been named Ammassivk (Angmagssvik) for some days of exploring.
The basic entertainment in that village was watching the weather balloon being sent aloft at 9:00pm each day.
It was a fascinating experience.
When we left, the Icelandic Air pilot sent us through the fiords, well below the tops of the surrounding mountains
so we could have a never-to-be forgotten experience.
No, I never forgot that one.
In those days I was taking print pics and the negatives are long gone. But I still have the print collection.
Amazing scenery, both in Iceland and in Greenland.
Fantastic Mark, It's nice to see you back and I hope you decide to stay. You pushed for me to be member of the week a few years back and that was really a factor for me in working on being a better photographer and I've always appreciated that you did that.
Great images on Flickr and yeah, Iceland is incredible. I'm going to back there in December but sadly, just for a layover on the way to Amsterdamn. I do need to take another actual trip there.
