that sounds fun,,, and a good way to keep in touch with friends and family, create your photos as postcards, and its a personal gift as well! And if your into making money to cover photograph expenses have your photos made for friends and family to purchase and use as stationary, greeting cards, post cards, ect.
I am currently working on my babies birth announcements and making updated pics for safety ID's, and instead of taking them to proffesional, wallents and such to share with loved ones.
This is really weird, I just been reading an article in this months Black & White Photography magazine about exchanging photographs with other photographers in this way.
The authour recommend looking for postcard groups on the 'net but I could only find ones dealing with old fashioned postcards, I, too think this is a great idea for DPCers to do.
This is a great idea - I really hope the sample postcard that comes back from Amazing Mail (suggested by Gordon) is to my liking - it seems like a great way to send cards around, and easily. It is always great to find something that is not a bill or a circular in the mail.
You can actually use about any 4x6 print. I got about 45 cards printed up at my local 1 hr lab earlier this week. The aren't traditional postcards on the back side, but there is a block for a stamp. You could stamp, address, and mail any 4x6 print probably :)
I have been working on photo postcards about 3 months now. I have 66 different ones to be printed…. I am basically doing this for my sister she wants to collect them all postmarked. I just need to upload them….lol
Do they make postcard albums (I would like one that says POSTCARDS)?
How are you guys going about this, I am kinda slow and dumb, so please point me in the right direction for making sendable post cards. I have seevral 4x6's I'd like to send, but I am not sure what you guys aer doing about these cards. Are you getting glossy post card material, or printing it on regular gloss paper. It would be most appreciated if someone could shed a little light for me.
I just checked out AmazingMail.com, and it's just the coolest thing since sliced bread...upload a photo, type in addresses, and voila...your postcard is printed and mailed for you to the recipient you select. 10 4x6 custom cards, including postage and printing, was $10.50. They keep count of how many you've bought and how many you have left, and you can upload different photos for each card. Love the idea!
This is neat. I would like to join the "fray". Personally, I would prefer postcard/s sent to me in an envelop as Bangkok, Thailand is quite a distance to travel. Anyone who send me a postcard will get one in return. I have been fond of making postcards lately and now is the time to send them (what a coincidence)!
