I think that's because people are more interesting to look at than abstracts : ) Especially self-portraits since we are all curious to see each other.
i'm sure you're definitely right. first thing i did was look through the pics a few times to see what other members look like...and that wasn't to vote (haven't voted yet)

I'm not done yet but I have given an average of 6.5- and my entry is holding tooth and nail onto a 4.5...

That number is a little off. A 10 is the highest possible score and a 1 is the lowest, so the opposite of 8.6 would be 2.4.
I'd be cinterested to know how the computer judges what to scrub. With an average of 8.6, you could assume that votes of 7, 8, 9, and 10 were given. That's only 4 numbers. I know there have been challenges that I've only given 4, 5, 6, and 7, which is also only 4 numbers, albeit in the middle as opposed to the extreme.
I havent been on here in a long time and i'm surprised by the lack of entries in this challenge. I wasnt so generous with my votes. I found the high vote cast listed in this thread shocking. Maybe it's because I dont know who most of you are. who knows. For the comment about nothing in there being below a 5, that is hysterical.
