We're all getting so caught up in crappy scores (well, except for those who aren't getting crappy scores) that we're forgetting about the other aspects of the site.

I personally think people just don't like black and white. They like popping color.
Take a look at the front page, and then the challenge archives sometime. There is always a high percentage of black and white photos that take the ribbons. If people didn't like B&W that certainly wouldn't be the case.

As long as they are few in a challenge, it is well received, but when the entire lot is black and white, those stunning ones turns out to be boring.. atleast to many of the voters.
