to me its all very simple there is nothing wrong with that image.....i have the feeling the commenters here simply want an image to be disqualified due to it being too good for them to compete with!
what nudity and suggestiveness, come on arent you all adults ....i mean you have to pay with a cc to join these competitions isnt it? as far as my memory concerns we all are adults when we get our CC's, and we all have seen a puxxx and a dixx so what with an image, its our business aint it?

When the site rules specifically state that Male or Female genitals cannot be shown, it has nothing to do with being prude or who's business it is.

there are no genitals on display here, far from even! perhaps you need glasses? asides from that the challange was lingerie, everybody in their right mind knows that lingerie wraps up genitalia, so a bit of leniency would be advised here

if you do a challange of oranges you can expect an apple or two as well.
if you do a lingerie challange all adults can expect some sort of outlines of what it wraps.
if this image would bother you, then the image of the breasts which won 2nd place should bother you even more as they clearly spill way out of their wrapping.

Honestly? We DID agree to DQ them (and some similar entries) way back in 2008. However, there was some debate about the repercussions of retroactively DQing a bunch of previously validated entries with a different group of SC, and the discussion died out in 2009 with no action taken.
How did they ever make it through validation in the first place when full frontal nudity, male or female has never been allowed in challenges? I'm pretty sure those are cut and dry images against challenge rules. As far as I remember they have never been different as far as what was allowed.

Hi Marco. I started this thread. I didn't enter the Lingerie challenge...no competition angst here. What I brought this image forward for was in regards to the TOS, specifically the one (4.2) that refers to "sexually explicit acts" (please read it if you have time...not as a slam, but to have knowledge of this section of the TOS to speak up on it).
The title of this thread also says "loosely applied". There was an image a couple years ago that was DQ'd and actually removed from this site for breaking some rules. Personally, I thought the image we're discussing is very similar in nature to the one previously removed...why one removed then, and this allowed to remain is the main question. Where's the line on what breaks this specific section of the TOS?

True. Moreover, the image questioned in the OP would not be DQ'd then or now because it's just not that explicit. The earlier case was considerably more graphic.
ok i will delf into it a bit deeper and read more, but i am undeterred...even full frontal nudity should be allowed we are after all photographers and many of us do be it in artistically way or not photograph nudes, its part of our jobs, and as adults I dont think this should be a problem on this website.

For what it's worth, I personally agree with you. And the nudity filter is there for those who don't.
So would something like this be offensive?? It is full front nudity, but he is covered by his hand, but he is holding himself. So where is the line?
I could understand if they where playboy full zoom in close to all the bits and pieces, but from what i am understanding, this is about possible implied naughty things that might be happening, versus nude?
