Interesting that there is a lot of seascapes & cityscapes in a landscape challenge. I could under stand cityscapes since they are on land. How does a seascape with more water and sky then land qualify as a landscape image. The prior challenges were the same. Just wondering.......Ok, I said it. Go ahead and eat me up...Lol. FYI, I didn't take this in consideration while I voted. Some Great work in this challenge. :)
"Landscape" covers all those things. Anyway, if we had a "seascape" challenge, people'd be complaining the seascapes had too much land in 'em... But, seriously, if you look at classic landscapes in art, you'll find that water is a really strong element in an awful lot of them. Google "Constable" in Google Images, for example; 18th-century British landscape painter, check out how many of his classic landscapes have ponds, rivers, streams, lakes, and the ocean itself in them.
I agree in some ways. When did the terms cityscape & seascape happen? Also why do we break it down into three galleries here and other sites if there is no difference? Remember I'm a b&w banker with no imagination.....
Can't really explain that, but I do know that some people will assume that they can enter anything providing that it is presented in landscape format vs portrait format. My shot has some water and sky in it, But also has a whole bunch of land. I figure I had better cover all the bases to please the masses.

There IS a difference, that's the thing. But the others are all subsets of the larger category. It's like, men and women both are human, you know? So when it comers to keywording, you DO want to plug your "seascape" as something with the sea in it, so when people are seeking images with the sea in them, they...
