This is a really amazing array of stellar images! I can't believe the quality of what I'm seeing. I'm at a complete loss to explain all these 4 & 5 scores y'all are reporting.....

I'm seeing some of the finest images I can remember......some of which have just blown me away with their unique quality & composition.
I hope I can hang in and vote & comment on them all.....I have a tendency to flag doing Free Studies......but at least these ones will stick.
mine held up over night too (he he he).... at least I got one good comment... and I still like my own image.

Just remember, it's popularity contest. Sometimes an entry is successful when it hits the crowd that appreciates such things. For instance, abstracts and blur tend to do poorly outside of abstract and blur friendly challenges. There are a few people who really love such things, most others go "Huh?".
Here's the sad thing - I really TRIED to cater to the masses, and it's doing about the same as the one I entered last month, which was not mass-friendly. Go figure. Since I'm already out of the FS marathon, perhaps just sitting out the Free Studies is a good idea! :-)
It's interesting to have something doing this well and then I think I was trolled and the magic spreadsheet shows it was a 5. The less generous voters seem to be out now and it's in a slow drop.

You are absolutely right and I enjoy the challenge regardless of the outcome.
I really don't let trivial matters such as low fours stand between me and my enjoyment of photography.
I still continue giving out scores that are five and above even to Trolls.....

Maybe, with a little luck it will make it. If it doesn't make it then it will have lot's of company among the four's section of my portfolio.

That shows that people with different tastes are coming out to vote now. My eye-candy entry that started off in the high 6's is now dropping slowly from a lot of 5's. Freestudies are harsh.
I expect it to end at about 5.5 -- that's usually what happens with my shots that I like. I know my other shot would have done better, but I was hoping to catch a few eyes. And looking around, 3 comments is pretty good at this stage! Including a nice one from NikonJeb (thanks!)

Shows you connected with those people. Glad to see it's picked up. Interesting to note that as your entry (and others that started low) have picked up, my entry that started off high has been dropping. It would be interesting to know who those voters are and what their criteria is.

naw, been dropping for the last hour or so. was actually up to 5.8, now I'm at 5.6 and threatening to drop below. Had a bunch of 4s.
