Not so good so far for my first entry in months, but I know it's not a great shot. I'm a little puzzled if my understanding of camera movement is incorrect, after seeing some of the entries and the comment I got.
I woke up expecting to have this about a 6+....I should have gone with my second choice, which I thought was too cliche`. But I see there are no others like it. Oh well.

The interesting thing with this challenge is that the entries are a lot more abstract than the normal and so it's harder for the voter to be as objective - i.e. it's not a straight forward case of deciding whether the subject is in/out of focus for example.
It's more subjective and open to interpretation and so there is probably a very fine line between something that is 'good' and 'bad'. There are also a lot of similar submissions and while some have pulled it off better than others, there is a risk that if someone doesn't like it then they're not going to like a fair few of the pictures.
I don't think low scores are necessarily a sign that the trolls are out - just that this subject is less straight forward for those voting. Perhaps calculating the standard deviation for your entry at the end will make for interesting analysis of how the votes have gone.
Wishing that people wouldn't vote really defeats the point of this site. I'll hazard a guess that you can learn more from a poor entry than a perfect one. As long as you enjoy the process of the challenge then you win. I certainly found this one frustrating because there was a lot of trial and error involved, but equally, I enjoyed thinking about what I was going to try and, ultimately, getting something reasonable to enter.
anyone still above 6? I have a feeling that mine will be bopping up and down all week. Mine was a swing of 10 votes averaging 6.4, then a swing of 11 averaging 5.3. Wow, what a difference!
The scores sure do look a bit low (although I am pleased with mine actually).
I think the issue voters are having (and I thought this going into this challenge) is that blurry is the norm in this challenge and one major deciding point for many voters when it comes to score is taken away. If the voters (generalizing here!) don't see crisp and shiny, they don't know what to do.
