You guys make this voting thing out to be a joke...it never fails...always looking for something....why don't you just try to be smart...and guess the three techniques...just maybe you couldn't do it...splitting hairs...all the time.
I don't think that's true at all. I voted on every entry and gave out a total of almost 7.0. I actually think that most people are too lenient on pictures that don't meet the challenge and don't follow the rules. It's pretty frustrating when a person submits a decent photo that follows all the rules and is voted on low, and then other photos break the rules or fail to read the directions and people vote them higher just because they like the photo. All the rules need to be completed...we can't pick and choose because THAT'S THE CHALLENGE.
In this particular challenge most people can tell what someone was doing with their shots, but I think you're missing one of the points of this challenge and it's does the photographer know or realize the techniques they are using. I could very easily tell the three people that I liked their photos and I know they were going for techniques X, Y , and Z and score them on my thoughts. However, there is a fine line between blur and Shallow DOF or Soft Focus. There is a fine line between what some people consider Shallow DOF, Blur or Bokeh. The challenge is for the photographer to show the quality of their photo AND let us know they know what they are shooting. That's my take on it anyway.

Well I followed all the rules....have no comments...and am sitting on 5.4....I suppose it is an improvement on the 4.4 of earlier....but guys...lighten up.
I have never woken up to a score in the high 6s (or had a picture get there at any point in time for that matter), three comments & a favorite. I'm trying not to get too excited... aiming for a personal best (over 6.5 ish).

I didn't notice the 3 techniques challenge rules that I should list 3 techniques in title, so I got many DNMC score 4s . I'm so depressed for my careless mistake. I hate myself! Can I change the title during voting? Should I DQ my entry?

My god....I've never started this high in the morning. I can't believe my score. I'm afraid to hit the update button because I know it's going to plummet. If the usual trend holds up, It'll drop by 0.4 during the week, then raise back up by 0.2 points...and it will still plow my current PB out of the water.

Yep, there are definitely a few voters sitting there nitpicking the pix apart technique by technique by technique and leaving unhelpful comments. Guess some people don't have a life.
