Yup, precisely. Someone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but you can do 99% of what anyone else can do at MM with the free account -- a paid account simply lets you have more portfolio space. The free accounts have 20 photo slots; you can change/rearrange your photos at any time. Paid membership, or "VIP" members, have 100 slots.
Ah, actually I just searched the faq online and here's the full list of differences:
* Increased number of photos (100 instead of the normal 20)
* Increased number of private messages (100 per 24 hours instead of 15)
* Increased number of announcements (1 every 5 minutes instead of every 30 minutes)
* Ability to opt out of seeing ads on the site
* A cool VIP icon that follows you where ever you go on the site
* And an ever-updating set of new features and functions that we'll continue to roll out
They need to update the FAQ. In April of this year, they changed to a Tiered system (gold, silver,bronze).
The FREE account now only allows for 10 photo slots.
