I feel calm just looking at it.
The more I dig into portfolios the more I realize that I'm not even scratching the surface of photography. I really have no clue what to even look for when taking a photo. I'm going on pure feeling and little experience which sometimes scores well but again I know I can do so much better.
My mind can see what I would like to capture but my camera ability can't capture them as of yet as well as my photoshop skills. I guess I do have a regret. It's that I wish I started taking pictures about 20 years earlier. At the same time I feel good that I've only been practicing for 9 months now and have learned a ton already. I believe that I will learn much more this month by searching through the MANY great photographers on this site and what makes the photographs special!
I never knew that photography would grab me so tightly as well as DPC and it's members.
Had fun looking through DrAchoo's portfolio (challenges) tonight. Some great stuff as well as the commentary. Picked 9 more favorites as well as added a fav photographer.
Wow - so many people who posted in this thread that I thought were already in my fav's long ago.

The photograph that drew me to the site in the first place (it was the current challenge at the time and on the front page) and made me join was this stunning shot...
It's still one of my favourite images here and it really is what i aspire to. If i can take a photograph even remotely near as good as that i'll be happy.

I was trying to find this thread or something like it...how about it DPCer's go out there and find some of your favorites. It's such a pleasure to see when "I've" made a connection with my photo. Now spread the joy ....or pay it forward!!!
What a great reason to be more intentional about looking at and appreciating the body of work of some of the amazing photographers here. Thanks, Carlo! I hardly ever even look at my profile page, so I was actually really surprised and humbled by what I noticed. But I've been here a very very long time too :)
