Howdy, Jump in, the water's fine here.
Best of luck with the voting on your current entry. It's nice to see another Aussie here. Aussies are generally pretty entertaining and very real people.
Hi Beck, always good to see another Aussie here. Good luck with your first entry. As for the riff-raff, they keep the place interesting, even Judi, she's alright even for a redhead Queenslander ;)
As for learning, take photos, enter challenges, vote on others, read comments and you'll really start to get a sense of what works and what doesn't. Once you have that the trick is to make it work for you, I find the way to go is to buy more equipment/ flashes/ lenses etc, until my wife threatens to burn the lot :)
And most important of all, if a photo you like bombs, and believe me it will happen ( alot, or is that just me?), don't take it personally, its all a learning experience.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone.
I can't afford to buy any more equipment, the money I did have is in savings and slowly being squandered by my needy sister... I had to pay her rent for her this week. GAH.
I've learned not to take it personally, I have a deviantART page and I feel disappointed if a photo I love doesn't get a favourite and the current photo I have in the challenge appears to be doing okay, I don't expect to win though.
EDIT: Oh by the way, I'm taking part in the macro side challenge on the forums, feedback would be nice. :)

Yup...so he is telling you that everyone else is fake...just a figment of your imagination...which as you will find after a while here...is pretty wild...or is that just me....wild....hmmmm!!!!
...I take photos in my spare time and try to explain how it all works to the clueless boyfriend! Hehe, I love reading, puzzles, internet, IRC and pulling things apart....
lol that is almost true, Especially the part about telling the authority where to stick things, However the other parts are a bit off base, He actually likes to get greased up and dance around poles, and No one actually rules DPC. DPC IS one of the most unruley places on earth. If it was Ruley, Slippy wouldn't be allowed to run around in his underwear all covered in grease telling people where to stick it. by the way, Welcome to DPC Beck I seemed to have forgot to say that in my previous posts.
It's weird, i'v never introduced myself...
Hi, i'm Pedro, a 23 year old guy from Brazil, trying to buy a non-point&shoot camera so i can get to something i still don't know what it is...
Anyway, welcome Indoctrine, good luck on your first challenge!
Hi beck......another Aussie joining our plot to take over the world......this place really is crazy, and addictive, but a lot of fun. Stear clear of the update button, as once you press it, there is no escape.....don't say you weren't warned..........

Grab your update button and drag it up to your tool bar at the top. No more scrolling down to find the update button!
Here's how I look by the way. Just to make it easier to pick me up from the airport. Beck I live in Sydney by the way, I know you won't be able to resist coming down here once you see my photo.
