If SS were ever to reward for loyalty, I'd close all my other accounts in seconds.
I'd say you were lucky with SS, I've applied at the 9 companies mentioned at the beginning of this thread following the guidelines in here. I've got approved in all except SS!!, The same pictures used or review I used for all of them, all accepted it except shutter stock!! the QC varies from site to another, Istock, BigStock took only 11 pictures out of 70, while the rest took them all almost. Still waiting for the 30 days period to end up to apply again at SS, not sure though it worth it all the hassle.
Well el-ghool I dont know waht to say about that. But i can tell you this, my best selling photographs at Shutterstock get rejected at Istock. As I'm writing this, i got another Istock rejection on a top selling photo for noise and i cant find any noise or artifacting on this shot. I can deal with rejections, what i cannot deal with is the time u have to waste with istocks primitive inefficient uploading system. And then the one week or more wait for approval. SS Just reviewd a batch for me in less than 24 hrs. So for me, Istock is an utter complete waste of time. And I will not be submitting to them anymore, I'll just leave the account intact , in case they get bought out down the road :)

I like Istock so far. I have 9 files there (with plenty of rejections!) and have made $8.00 (whoo hoo - time to quit my day job lol) since October. Dreamstime has been good for me too.
I'm still trying to figure out what 10 pics I will upload to Shutterstock.
I've pretty much stopped uploading to microstock, since june. When I started I wanted to use it as a learning tool, trying to learn from the reviews&rejections and earn on the side. I did earn $$$ from it but now it's at the stage where in order for me to keep pace, it would interfere with my day job. I think I've improved since i started photography in 2006. I'll concentrate now on quality in small quantities, instead of trying to keep pace with what seems to be a losing battle of never ending uploading. I'll be trying macro, I also got an invite to flickr/getty. But I'll also try for Alamy or Getty full. Thanks micro-stock, I bought a ton of stuff through microstock :)

This captures all the experience I have had over the past 3 years as I built my income from stock from zero to a run rate of almost $10,000 a year. I\'m not saying this is easy - in fact, it is hard work, but is still worth trying for anyone looking to make some reasonable money from their hobby.
