I took some (ok, a lot) of pictures of a dance recital my son was in. I am putting the shots up for parents to buy (if you want to see them they are at //dance.nrshapiro.com).
But I also put together a slide show, of a reduced number of images to show parents. I have a .mov file of them, and was going to post on YouTube, and give it out free as well to the dance studio and parents, and then I realized I can't do that with commercial music.
Before I buy some, I was wondering about other options... any where else? Any musicians on DPC want a credited sound track for some nice music?
The video is about 11 minutes long (hey, it was a four hour recital!). I will have to break it in two though, because YouTube only allows 10 minutes in a video.

I have an old CD with some classical guitar-type music written and played by my friend Tom which I think you could use in exchange for credit, if it seems suitable for your subject matter. If you're interested, send me an email address and I'll try and track it down and send you MP3 files you can check out.
search for music licensed with the "Creative Commons" license. lots of that can be used for non-commercial use like this (just look at the specific license type).
OK I am going to point out the obvious that no one has yet to see. Dance recital? Your son? Really Neil?

Well Matt I know you are just making innuendo and kidding, but how do you think all those Broadway stars are trained? My son is headed that way, but it's going to be a hard road and he'll need a lot of luck.
And since this old post, he has even expanded to Ballet. He now takes Tap, Jazz dance, and Ballet. So there! :-P (;))
And since you brought it up, for what it's worth, this year's recital was a few weeks ago, and the new pictures are posted! His advanced Jazz dance class did a really incredible dance from the "On the Town" musical. Here are a couple direct links with pictures I liked that have him in it:
And why all the dance? With that and the voice lessons, he's already done very well getting parts. I won't go through them all but since it's a photography site, I will post some pics!
Here he has the male lead in a local theatre production of Thoroughly Modern Millie (this past fall):
He's had many good roles already (he'll be a senior this year), and this summer is his first paid role in the summer Washington Park theatre production of "High School Musical". Anyway, I know you were just kidding, but it did give me a good reason to share those photos (I don't usually post and share his life...)!
As to the music question which this thread is about, I've been using Jamendo mostly for finding music, and it's been great. I did a slideshow for the Millie production using the creative commons music from Jamendo which worked pretty well!
