Hi Gals and Guys, today at lunch I had lots of fun buying two new lenses. They will take a little time to get used to...but today's Where I Live is brought to you by my brand new 70-200 f/4L USM. I'm very pleased considering the less than ideal circumstances shooting this. I was in a running car and I was resting the camera on the window sill.
Edit to add a shot from the other new lens, the 10-22. Because we were expecting heavy rain to move into the area, I shot this one out our bathroom window! Our backyard, again, not the best shot ... but it is what it is.
Trying to keep up with comments - I may not hit all of your shots, but I'll try to hit at least a few of everyone's. If I miss you, send me a PM and I'll fix that!
Here are a few from me. First is a wide shot of my "garten" - where the roses grow. This was just before a nice little thunderboomer came through:
I went to the train station at about the time the thunderboomer hit, so I hid out in the stairwell for awhile, then when the worst of it had passed, stood on the platform and waited for the next train to Frankfurt (skipped the one you see sitting there - mostly because I knew another would be buy in fifteen minutes.)
And some bits of architecture (and a couple of pigeons) in Frankfurt.
(Would have scored better than the one I have in Architecture!)
Actually took this one a few months ago, but it evokes the history of the pacific ocean seafarers in this area. An old salty sea dog hoping for another chance to face the mighty waves.
