Yes, this is an older image too, but one I particularly like. :-) That portfolio folder contains several similar others of the Iwo Jima Memorial in the same vein from this GTG.

The background was the naturally dark night sky.

I shot this back in 2005 & reworked it this morning. The BG distortion is caused by a reflector held behind the tulip. I had a strong spirit of adventure then, before I started spending time entering photo challenges. I like to go back & admire my own innocent pleasure in photography. Yes, I know the whites are stark--I like it like that.
