It might be the way you are reading your slots. I was reading it wrong for a while too:
Upload Slots: 2 <-- This is the number of slots you get a week. They are released, it seems, exactly a week from the last.
Free Slots: 2 <-- This is the remaining # of slots you have for the week.
Is that the way you are reading them?
I'm not sure. I was given three slots (all published) and within less than a weeks time given another three (two were rejected). Then, three days after the one published image went up, one more slot opened.
Also, pimping your wife can be a dangerous game! ;-)

and thanks, I can't believe my first submission was accepted! But I did watch what Nathan entered and had a bit of a feel for what fits in there, and I think that really helped.

I couldn’t agree more. I wonder if the screener’s objectivity is swayed at all from comments here.
It appears to me that this thread is a place for DPC members to vent their frustration at not being accepted on another site. Nothing wrong with that I suppose but it just makes me laugh a little at what the people from the other site must be thinking.
I think it's funny that the thought of "shooting for 1x" would cross my mind--- And I don't think I'm the only one. As if... haha :)
Ha. Well at least that's an entire site. We have one person here, posthumous, who has managed to get others to shoot for him. I don't know if I should be impressed by that or not.
But seriously, if anyone thinks this thread is a detriment to either site, I'll be happy to ask to have it locked. I personally see it as another avenue. Not the same as DPC, certainly doesn't take the place of DPC. I am not entirely sure the other site is happy with the attention.... Of course, if they get a few memberships out of the deal, I guess that's a plus, yes?
Hardly. 600+ posts and a very active and lively discussion tells me that this thread is doing nothing to lose DPC any members. DPC is a good place to hone one's skills and a good testing ground for those wishing to get images published -- at 1x or wherever. And I could see myself becoming a paid 1x member someday -- just need to get a few more shots published (a situation best achieved by actually submitting shots for publication).
