I didn't have the time this week to vote on all the images. If I had, I would have. Instead, I am commenting and voting on the ones I can. Scooter, I'm sure people would prefer that EVERYONE vote and comment on all images but, it is obvious they don't. I will be fair to each entry I can but I cannot be fair to all - I am voting and commenting on the random images that come up, as they come up. Please don't denegrate my attempt because it doesn't fit your idea of how to vote. Course, I could just stop now...
My feeling is that if you're going to vote and judge the photos that you need to evaluate them all (or as many as possible) - to be fair - even if you're voting each photo on its own merit. We all work hard to put the photos up there, why not give every entry what it deserves. Besides this whole process is a learning tool - I'm kind of assuming that's what we're all here for!
I wonder if people would prefer I spend 10 seconds on each photo, as some voters confess to doing, to vote on all 500, or I spend a minute on each of 20% of the photos? Thoughts? I have that amount of time tonight...
You do what you can do and you sound as if you are thinking thoughtfully. Time is an issue so you have to choose. You will make the best decision. Go for it.

dahkota I don't mean to offend anybody by saying that my standards are the only ones that are important. As long as you are fair and give time to each entry that you vote on, I can have no complaints.

Missed the mark this year, last 3yrs managed to score over the magic 6. Went in a different direction this year, along with some processing errors as noted by the comments. Happy it did what it did, all things considered. Corrected the processing errors and printed the image, came out great.
