A few answers: I cropped the squirrel a bit more, to just show his face and "hands" -- not great, but OK.
The second picture here is an alternate photo I got, but the tree was too much in the way to use.
Oh, and I guess I was a bit devious here, the blue background isn't the sky, its the snow on the opposite side of the ravine. For whatever reason, it shows up as blue and works well even though it isn't really sky. I was shooting down on the squirrel all the time.
I have my photo for week one - sunrise of the 1st :) but I will only edit and post it after I get home next week. My laptop has a rubbish screen (contrast and everything shifts a lot if you even move your head slightly) and is useless for photo editing.
Decided to sort of merge rules from another side challenge with this one. I'm going to use already existing images in my library to work on my general processing skills, and in particular my black and white conversion skills. So not everything I post will be freshly shot, but it will be freshly processed/converted.
