I was running out of time today, and hoping for something better. There is a significant Amish population in the area where I live. They are an interesting, humble group. I was hoping today was the weekly hay auction, when there is a real bustle of activity. Turns out it is Wednesday. At any rate, it is common to see horses and buggies moving through town. In Ashland where I live, the Home Depot store and other businesses have posts for our Amish neighbors to tie up their horses. This photo is taken in Kidron, Ohio.
We have a lot of Canadian geese where I live (which is in the US just south of Canada). Their numbers increase during the spring and fall migrations. In the spirit of the fall migration, here are some flying ones.

I have spent two days this past week, down at the beach, and have captured quite a lot of images of him. We enjoy him so much, and it is so peaceful.
It is also a place where I can go, comfortably with my walker, and get close to him. I am now finding it harder and harder to get about, so I have to make the most of what, and where, I can go, as it will not be long before I can not get out at all.
I do hope this is OK by you all, and that you enjoy a month in the life of Percy the Pelican.....
I promise not to have a whole month of the dogs, but this was just too funny. Mike was making cookies for a United Way fundraiser and Pickles and Bailey were watching the entire time.
My first side challenge and I start with an epic fail. After posting on Saturday I came down with strep on Sunday and have hardly moved from the couch. I could hardly hold my head up much less hold up the camera.
Today I had to go into the office and decided to stop by my local Penn Camera on the way home. I walked out with a new Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II along with a 1/2/4x filter kit. Hopefully I'll feel up to trying out the new lens in the next few days. I also promise to catch up on commenting, thanks to all that commented on my first entry.
These are actually rejects from the motion blur challenge (sorry). But they fit in with the lake and waterfowl theme of the ones I posted previously, so I decided to throw them in.
