I'm starting to sprout gills, is that normal?
Just south of my house they reported 20" of rain in the previous 24 hours, that was last night at 9:00 PM and it has been raining ever since, right now as hard as ever.
At work, On the way home, Sunset afterglow at the local river on the way home. We are about 200 miles south of the center of the storm now, and still getting some of the shower band activity.
hopefully homeowners insurance will cover the gazebo!

Just a little follow up to the pictures I posted yesterday, the tree is almost completely underwater now and it is still raining like hell. I went out for a drive this morning and there are many flooded roads which are closed, including one of the entrances to our neighborhood, even a few homes looked to be in trouble. Can we be done now?

We were lucky in Delray Beach. The worst was over in about 12 hours. School and city facilities were closed for only one day. The worst was the tornado threat -- many warnings throughout the night (no sleep) accompanied by very high winds and violent downpours. I think the closest tornado touch downs were in Boynton Beach and Wellington.
I just wanted to say, that while myself and my family enjoyed Fay, even driving 50 miles yesterday to catch up with it for photos and to walk around in it, that my family and I are very sorry for those who have been troubled by the storm to the extent of property or personal damage.
I was just looking at the radar over here in Louisiana and commenting that our friends in Florida had got to be SICK of that storm that will not go away. Wish it would meander up to Georgia where they need the rain.........
Hehe, during Francis and Jeanne we lost power for 4-6 days and had no windows (motel room, four adults, two dogs, cat)... not trying to downplay you though idnic, I go batty after a couple minutes with no PC and A/C.

Now the kids are outside on rollerblades (6 of them, my daughter and 5 neighbors' kids) they are holding a bedsheet and letting the wind sail them down the street. I'll take some pics! lol

Here's hoping y'all get some relief soon. I got out last night, lucky my flight went from Orlando; they almost couldn't cater it because of the wind.
At the conference I attended this week, attendance was way down, and a lot of that was the weather, no doubt. Several speakers canceled at the last minute because of it. Oddly, down near Disney, there was *very* little wind, but up at the airport it was blowing near 40 mph yesterday evening.
Four roof leaks, broken branches everywhere, pool overflowing.
Power out about 2 hrs, but while we were sleeping, so no biggy. Tornado spotted about a mile from the house.

Its still raining here and the flooding behind my house is getting deeper and deeper. The kids found ways to enjoy themselves though:

It rained like crazy again this afternoon, over a huge area. We got another 3 inches or so within a couple of hours. Our septic tank is not draining properly now, and there is more water in our neighborhood than I have seen in about 10 years. I'm off to my son's place to get a shower now.
Sorry about the trouble, Waddy. Hope we all start to dry out this weekend (though we're expecting rain all day, again). Its the wind and the volume of rain.... we're flooded for the first time since '04 when we had 4 of these in the same summer. I hope you and yours stay safe and keep indoors as long as the power stays on. :)
