Doesn't look like it's going to make my front page now. There have been some ugly votes today. Tracking my score, with no extra votes it dropped by over .1, changing the spreadsheet showed the last vote as -3, which means a couple of people possibly changed their scores at the same time. All down!
I took a serious beating 3.8 but I expected it. As a serious amateur I am slowly learning and I do mean slowly.
Evening was my second entry; I've been doing the 'photography-thing' as a hobby for a few months and consider myself nothing more than a lowly shutter clicker.
That being said...I wanted to make a comment about the comments section....why do some people feel it is okay to post nasty feedback? It's one thing to constructively criticize but to be nasty, well that's just unfortunate.
I'm curious to know how others deal with this here without resorting to the "report" feature (I don't feel that is necessary). Don't those who leave nasty feedback realize how that can come back to bite them later on down the road?

ok, so i know my photo certainly isnt a ribbon, but how is it a 4? and why only 1 comment if people feel its a 4? ive gotten waay too many 2s and 3s, and i have no idea why

Unfortunately, the closer ones score is to a 5, the fewer comments one gets. It's frustrating when you think your shot is good and you don't know why it's not doing better. People just click the 4 or 5 and press on. It's also harder to determine what it is that you do or don't like on something in that range.

No, it's not hard, except that I can understand it get to be a lot of commenting on some challenges. I try to do less voting and a higher percentage of commenting on those that I do vote on. Some weeks I don't vote a lot, because I don't have the time to leave those comments with them. I don't know if I hit yours or not though. If I missed it, I'll make sure to give you some feedback after the challenge.

well i only got one comment, dont remember who its from. to thats less then 1% who commented. my new goal for this year was to comment on everything i voted on. most of the time it isn't perfect, but at least i know people are getting comments they want and deserve
