I looked into your complaint and saw a compliment and high vote, your lack of understanding aside. You're welcome. :-/
I must have missed where posting a general observation to the forums constituted a "complaint" to the site council. I hope all infractions of this sort are logged so that SC members don't continually abuse their powers without at least have the rest of the SC see what they are doing.
Again, for shame.
You're forgiven.
Now back to the scores.
Dude, chill man, it's no big deal, I'm sure he was really just trying to help.
Yeah... given his history, I'm sure of that.
Bottom line, if he was truly concerned about a complaint, he could have PMed me. But he basically abused his power, checked my entry, and then came into this forum and called me a liar.
I quit worrying about scores. I do what I like. In any artistic endeavor, it is total subjectivity. Throw one out there and see if the masses like it. If not, who cares? If you like it and think it has merit, that really is all that matters.

Amen...
Although when i vote, I never vote less than a 5, so a 5 is the same as a 1 one in my eyes...
um.. i know everyone hates when people bring this up, but why do you only vote a 5 or higher? doesn't that mean every photo must be above average(on a voting scale)?
ok ok nevermind, i dont want to start a huge argument over voting styles. sorry i mentioned anyting
I actually think you have an interesting point (.....my ony critism is that you apologised for having an opinion). I think I probably vote similar, being that we can vote 1-10. I would like to see a govenor of some sort, that if you give a score less than five, you must register your comment first. Of course it probably would also help to have a guide to giving constructive critism for learning purposes, based on that I have received some interestingly worded comments on occasions. I have also received some well thought out and considered opinions, that have helped me greatly.
Maybe we should have an award for the most considerate and helpful commentor....it is a gift! I know I have some favourites....maybe it could be the Silver Tongue award. My favourite commentor is SandyP...not only a fabulous photographer, but also a brilliant commentor..... and there are many others also. Maybe we could start a new thread for the Silver Tongues, and every one nominates their favourite comment maker.
They do have the Yappie award for exactly that....don't worry girl....grab another glass of wine!!! LOL! But I agree with your suggestion...it would stop these troll voters without good reason for their low vote!
I know this is a bit off topic for this thread, but I thought Yappies awards were for the number of comments, not necessarily, the quality of the comment.....Please enlighten!

It's for both, and a subjective judgement at that. If you just commented "Nice shot" on all the entries, nobody would give you a yappie for it. You may be thinking of Judi's 100% coments club, which is strictly based on commenting on an entire challenge.
I can comment on all of 'em in this one, but I won't vote on all, as I know who several entries belong to.

Thanks! :)
May your evening turn into a beautiful new day! ...and your scores reflect that!
Where you misunderstand it seems is that he said that it was hard to compare my photo with the others... People can vote however they choose, but comparing photos is not really part of the voting. You look at the photo, ask yourself if it meets the challenge and then rate it 1-10. Some people here (and it's their right) think they are supposed to give a 10 to the best photo of the bunch, a 9 to #2, etc... But I think the majority here actually rate the photos. So there could be multiple 10s or there could be no 10s a given challenge.
So there is no element of comparing one photo to the next to assess how good a given photo is.
Again, that's what the comment DID in fact say.
Sorry to drag this up again, but I think that may have been my comment, and if so, it was intended to recognize some out of the box thinking for the topic, and I gave that entry a good vote.
I went to bed last night 30 minutes after rollover, I had a comment and an 8 what the heck! This non commenting is b.s. out of 29 people, only one person had the guts to comment. I'm generous when I vote, and I do comment even though they're not the best constructive comments...still, I try to do my part. Thanks to the people who do theirs, too.

Went and did some damage of my own over lunchtime.
