I suspect that the score is heading for a big fall, but the nonetheless a pleasant uprise to wake up to. I wasn't overly happy with the photo as submitted - it was something of a last minute entry, and I know I could do the p-p much better.

Heh! I could say that exact same thing about my Lawn entry - and it's scoring a 5.1. My Fallen entry, which I thought about, went out to find my subject, shot for about an hour trying different angles, camera settings, light, etc, then spent some time processing, is about a 5.3.
So I think a lot has to do with the caliber of the photographer - 'grats on the awesome start!!
Doing lots better than expected, though someone thought it was a DNMC. I mean this was a pretty easy challenge to meet but hey they gave a decent score so.
I'm seeing a LOT of excellent work in this challenge so far. I think it will singlehandedly raise my scores given average! Nice work by all...now back to voting!
