I'd like to offer a challenge - for those of you who aren't exactly in the 7+ club, make it a goal to comment on at least 50 entries in this challenge. And make those 50 entries those that are NOT getting your top votes (they'll get plenty of comments, in general). Take some time to look at the shots you hit "5" and normally move on (or whatever your "eh" number may be) and try to see WHY you gave it a 5 and wanted to move on. Then POLITELY put that into words and leave a comment. After you go through and do this, look at your own shot again. See if maybe some of those reasons apply. I plan to do this.
For those in the 7+ club, I'm sure some of the mid-range scorers (you can pretty much tell which images they are) would love a bit of advice or encouragement as to how to move on to that next step.
It's easy to leave comments on the great shots.

I am so tired of seeing the low scores, not only mine but everyone's, people are way too selfish around here....

The majority of photos aren't as good as you think they are.
Not to argue, but as has been said many times, many ways (no, not "merry Christmas") but different folks have different scales for voting. personally I like to try to use the whole 1-10 range (although rarely less than a 3, and rarely more than a 7) so that for me an "average" photo in a challenge is approx a 5.5, the not so good ones are 3-4, the really good ones are 6-7, and of course the "going for the brown" type get less then 3 and the ones I think should be front page get the 8+.
It is really a matter of perspective. For some a potential front page only gets a 6, and for others the average photo gets a 7.... to each his/her own. :)
I had expected it to be higher but thats probably because I've been looking at it since July 1st and didn't edit any of the 150 other shots I took that day. That said only a fool would be displeased at a 6.3 ;)
