I agree, TONS of DNMC's. I know that it was a confusing subject, but still...some of them are way off, IMO. I don't really know how to score this one.
Judging by my score I would say I am way off....can you please explain to me what is a correct image for this challenge?
To me the key word is point. There are a ton of images that have much more than a point of color.
I don't agree with voting people down on semantics. I'll give 7's and 8's to beautiful seascapes that are in a landscapes challenge. If I wanted to play it strict with the challenge title, then pretty soon I'm debating if I should use 18th century french definitions of landscape, or if I should bust out the Sakuteiki and give everyone 3's.
If there is at least one point of color, the image is technically sound, and has an impact, then it recieves a good vote from me. Additional points of color be damned.
I don't really consider this an issue of semantics as much as one of challenge description. It's "point of color", not "burst of color", "blast of color", "some color", "points of color", etc. I'm looking for a point of color on a background that mostly differs in color.

Boooh. It's really not THAT bad. I still like it.
I'm about half way through voting, and the number of DNMCs really is amazing on this one. I'm with Ken: there is a lot of difference between a "point" of color and a splash, or splotch, or hundreds of points, or no color at all. I usually vote with an open mind, but some of these are just too far gone.
If I thought 90% of the photos DNMC then I would be re-thinking my interpretation of the description. Really how can 90% of people have it wrong ??
If you take the word "point" literally, then there are only two shots in the whole challenge that should score higher than a 1.

Those 90% who don't have what I consider a point probably realize that meeting the challenge description isn't as important as a good picture.
DNMC doesn't mean an automatic 1 from me and certainly not others. And I'm still considering not voting this time around.

Oh me either. I'm not a meanie. There are some really nice shots, but I'm not going to give an 8-10 for something that doesn't meet what the description says. I gave mostly 4-6's.
The interpretation of this is all over the place so the winner is probably going to be a surprise to more than half of the voting people who will disagree.
